A GATED WATERFRONT COMMUNITY
Just 75 minutes from Midtown Manhattan, in Southern Danbury, with easy access to Route 7 and I-84, shopping at the Danbury Fair Mall, and fine restaurants of every culture. It’s a gated lake community offering two beaches, several swimming docks, tennis, basketball, baseball, shuffleboard, walking or running track, a clubhouse, a playground, and hiking trails, as well as a new bocce court!
One of the few gated communities in the area, Lake Waubeeka is surprisingly unknown, and that’s the way many of its residents would like to keep it. This lovely gated community still maintains its roots as a summer holiday community yet many families have decided to enjoy the lake life year round. Overall, the community has about 250 homes, ranging from cozy summer cottages to completely remodeled and expanded Mid Century homes, as well some newer homes. The Lake Waubeeka Association owns approximately 550 acres of undeveloped woodlands surrounding the community which is for use by all Waubeekans, and is not to be built upon. A nature trail begins across from the dam on Carol Street. Located at the north end of Post Road, the Community House is used for meetings, entertainment, and social purposes. Two beaches border the lake: one at the intersection of Post Road and Carol Street, and the other at the foot of Paul Street. The quality of the lake’s water is regularly monitored. Lifeguards are not provided by the Association, and swimming is at your own risk. In addition to swimming, the lake is also used for fishing and boating. No powerboats are permitted on the lake. Boats must be hand, foot or wind-powered. Boats may be left near the swimming beaches, but as a safety precaution the Association asks you to take your oars home with you. “Move-in Ready.” Enjoy ranch-style living all on one level, with a Great Room with soaring ceilings and fireplace, access to a large deck overlooking the babbling brook, seasonal lake views and privacy.
