The 800 lb gorilla is DEAD!

It used to be that REALTOR.COM was the 800 pound gorilla: they owned the overwhelming majority of traffic for real estate searches.  But, those days are over.  Now, traffic is greatly distributed among MANY different websites, with the top 10 sites CONBINED only accounting for 37% of all traffic.

Other interesting facts:

  • The average visit time was about nine (9) minutes.
  • The top four (4) sites were Yahoo, Zillow,, and (each with about 6-8% of the total real estate traffic).
  • ListingBook (our local consumer interface to our MLS) made the Top 20 list (nationwide).
